Beaverton is only about 9 miles from Portland.

crap,
I was cutting out the brake pedal arms (yes I am fabbing my own pedals and stuff) today and I guess I did not like the shape of my thumb... I took the cutting wheel and shaved my thumb down a little, leaving a gaping hole of missing skin. So now I have to relax a bit, wait for the pain to subside and let the skin grow a little.

But I was able to get the new steering wheel today, so the parts list is becoming more complete every day.

I think you should take a week to relax and chill since things have been turning out like this for you... i'm really sorry about your dog, i don't know what i'd do if i'd lose another dog, my rottweiler got hit by a car a few years back, it was really hard on me !

This is a awesome read, i can't wait to see the final result !

Wish I could relax, have to finish the truck by the end of November

I assume you are saying to post pics of the work, not my finger?? I have not taken one of my thumb or the work today just keeping my nose down and trying to get the work done...

Today it was like MR Safety took over the shop, I went out and bought new better welding gloves that said they had kevlar in them, bought some leather sleeve things, and a leather apron. I actually even wore everything plus goggles and ear muffs. It was actually nice my ears were not ringing, my skin was not burning and I did not have metal shards in every inch of my body, plus my shirt was not burning through. But the odd thing is that my right ring finger is numb, like Novcanie numb and it has been that way for about 5 hours now . The thumb I cut was on the left hand, so no relation.

As for work I am still working on the brake pedal, it is coming out well, but I spent over 8 hours grinding on it. I really need a CNC or a waterjet! It is welded up, but I may need to modify it again... I forgot the channel I was planning for the brake arm, so I either need to cut out the center of a 3/4" thick piece of steel, yes I mean the middle 1/4" section or figure out another way to mount the bar to the brake arm.

So this project was initially planned as a Community Build Project, seemed like there was enough local support to help on the labor. Not trying to complain, but just thought I would mention that this project may not get done without some help. It needs to be done in the next 36 days, I would love some help going through the engine (I never have before) and on the body and paint work... I have to do the body and paint myself or with donated help as I am essentially out of money. Going over the punch list and the calendar I just do not see how one person can knock it out that fast, although I am going to keep trying.

If you are willing and able to help, I have beer at the shop, I have a bunch of tools, welders, and now more safety stuff so no-one gets hurt.

get it running and bring it over and i'll paint it.... but it may not be cost effective when you factor the fuel cost into the equation.

if i was closer i would definitely be over there annoying the crap out of you and helpin' with the paint and all, but Georgia is a little far from where you are.....

Well, not out of the question... I will be driving to NY. But I know you were just joking anyway.

Anyone is welcome to annoy the crap out of me, shop is always open for anyone.
