Thanks this is my first build, and really my first crack at any of this stuff I grew up around computers not cars, I have built houses but trucks are a different animal. No sheetrock and texture to hide stuff just clean welds and solid metal what a PITA

If anyone knows of a good body man with a little extra time and in the Portland/ beaverton area I NEED help. As I menitoned the project may not get done unless I can figure out that part, and figure out how to pay for it.

I took the weekend off and had fun at the coast with friends, then got back to work today. Since I had the firewall all finished and mounts in I figured I would simply put the engine back in the mounts and make sure everything fits, then mount the steering wheel etc… well something was wrong, the engine fought the whole way, then when I finally had it in the mounts it looks like the floor needed to be bent up more and the firewall was too far forward. WTF!! So I proceeded to take the engine out cut out a part of the floor that was in the way (a flange) and put the engine back in, still did not work, heated the floor banged on it and it still did not fit but now I have a bubble in the middle of the floor not where it was supposed to be. I ended up cutting out the area of the firewall that I built and guess what, the floor still needs to be cut out, re-fabricated then I get to install the floor and firewall again. So I thought I was two steps forward but I get to take a few backwards again!

Hopefully tomorrow will work better.

Well the floor is back together and I am much happier with the way it came out this time. I still need to build the firewall again but am making sure everything fits first this time. I welded in a plate for the Hydroboost and am figuring out the brakes and gas pedals. I just bought some amazing speakers and amps, I still need a sub but the rest of the AV system is here and ready to install, the Alarm in here and ready to install with 2-way paging so I know if someone is screwing with the truck. My welding skills are getting better and I am starting to be happy with them… but I ran out of gas again so I had to buy more tonight.

I started in on the bodywork, I am not the best at shaping metal, but I filled in the gas tank hole, shaped the metal around and it came out looking good. I wish I was better at it, as I have to repair the roof and the drivers door, the rest are minimal repairs.

Looks like I have to paint the truck myself and basically build the truck all myself, just do not have the budget for the painter after all of the other stuff. It has been a ton of work so far but I am happy with everything and looking foreword to finishing it.

Sadly I woke today and my dog Kahlua was nowhere to be found. He has been my companion and best friend for 8 years, he is super smart nice and knows when I am not feeling bad. He has been there for me whenever I needed anything.

I went out looking for him because he always comes when I call, I only need to whistle once or snap my fingers and he comes. After walking around a while I thought he may have been picked up by animal control and went to the shelter to see if they had him. They asked me a few questions and had a picture up on their computer of when he was found. He had been hit and killed by a car.

It was a very tragic day, my heart goes out to others who have lost loved ones.

Tiremann, you speak

Thank you all, I have had dogs that had a wonderful long life or ones that enjoyed being on their own, but Kahluah was too young too smart and too kind to have been taken out by a car. He was our kid and our best friend.

Today was much better, I was actually able to get a little work done. Kahluah never liked it when we were sad so I had to power through it for him
