1939 Dodge 1.5 Ton Flatbed Build thread
Well 7 pages into the project almost a year later and I was getting closer to getting it finished... then with the house fire, being displaced to a hotel and going into the holiday season, more tradeshows for work nad everything else.
I regretfully have to give in to reality and will be working on the truck on the weekends but not full time. I wish there had been more support and that we were able to work together to build a cool truck, but everyone has a lot going on.
Updates may come but not frequently I have to get back to my real job and putting my houses back together after the fire.

Sooooo, I got back to the hotel tonight from dinner to find the hallway filled with smoke! Then the fire men can and were trying to figure out what was on fire. I can not escape this bad luck
nuthin of yours was it? u can move all ur stuff down here to east tennessee well work on that truck! ha ha sorry to hear about ur bad luck ive been there but not close to that. ill send u a jar of tennessee mountain water
No nothing was burned, just smoke... it was probably somone who burnt something on the hotplate, or the toaster. The toaster smoked up our room when it was set on low, burnt one side of the toast in a few seconds and the other side was still cold. So no toast for me, I am not going to chance that one again especially after someone else somked the place bad enough to have the fire department called and the firedoors closed automatically.
It is getting funny at this point, I always ask what is going to happen next then...
Well I may have to really put in some work on the truck. I looked at the cost of renting a truck for the trip and that is going to be over $2K for the truck that burns regular gas and only 8-9MPG I will save a ton if I can finish the truck.
SO if anyone is in Oregon and has time I will offer not only beer in exchange for help but may be able to throw you some cash. I do not have much to spend, but seeing my options it looks like I really need the truck done. The latest I can leave is January 25th to make it to Ohio in time for our tradeshow.

If yer talking the one at the IX Center, it's about an hour's drive up I-71 from here... and a WHOLE LOT closer than the distance YOU have to go! What are you looking at, 2500 miles or so?
