auto tranny swap
hey guys i was wondering if yall could help me my 97 auto's o/d went out so i bought one from a guy for 400 bucks fresh rebuild supposed to be out of a 98 but the tail housing doesn't have spot for the vss the very last sensor on the tail housing do i really need it or am i going to have to swap the internals

oh if it helps the numbers on the bellhousing in the truck are 238-3 and the numbers on the one i bought are 238-4

im sure you can, but idk what you all have to do to do it, cause the guy at the tranny shop told me that an 04 tranny could go in my 97

im retty sure you must have 2 wd but i think the tail housing is the compleat overdrive unit. i only rebuilt alot of 4wd ones. you can swa the guys but nood to pull that plate off the top and theres a ring that u need to expand in there and it will all slide out. the back of the trans just unbolts. just be carefull the park rod is kinda a pain let me knw if u need any info
