well the tranny that came with this truck was a rebuild from ammco with 18000 on it with a bone stock motor. tranny was to be beefed up, turns out it has a shift kit was all rebuilt and has a little above stock converter(billet cover). so i will milk this one as long as i can as it has 24000 miles on it now. source automotive can build me a single disc with new valve body for 2600 installed or ammco said they would do a double disc no new valve body for 1400 installed. kinda on a budget and don't have 3500 to 4500 to spend. what do you all think would be fitting for what is in my signature? thanks

From what I've heard ammco doesnt really build that great of a tranny. I always say your better to get your tranny done by someone that does diesel trannys exclusively not by somebody that rebuilds 99% tiny car transmissions. even though a good diesel shop will charge you more you will be alot happier with the end result

My personal opinion would be to get a sun coast converter and vb, or get a gorend converter and vb and have your local shop install it, id say thatd be ur best bang for your buck!

second that

dont go with ammco, use someone who deals with these trannys. plus its better to spend a little more money the first time than do it twice
