i had mine start knocking once. when you push clutch in no knock. turned out I broke the thrust main bearing. the knock came from about the middle of the engine too

Mine had a hellish knock with heavy grey smoke. The #4 injector had been hit by something and is smashed to pieces. I won't know for sure until the head comes off, but I'm postive I dropped my intake valve.

I tryed putting that injector back in and torqued it and still the same o knock.... now im in the process off pulling the motor.....so we are about to see whats wrong... the first thing im gonna do is pull the head and check the top of the pistons and cylinders hoping to find something there...but im expecting something more like haymafia had... ill try to keep yall updated the best i can....

Thank yall so much O just wondering how hard is it to get the motor up high enough to clear the crossmember? It dont seem like there is enough height at the back lift point to clear it? Havent got there yet but just wondering?? Thank yall

take the head off first ... it makes pulling the motor way easier.

I found out the hard way that its easier to pull the head first

about droping the oil pan, I think it would give you the room you need but it would be a pain to get back on.

after you get the head off all thats left are 2 motor mounts and the bellhousing.

Well i got my motor part off the way apart and so far we have found #4 piston oiler in the oil pan and the piston was scored.... it aint bad enough you can hang your fingernail in so im hoping that my block aint hurt.... but thats the only piston that i have out right now....tommorrow im gonna take the rest of them out and check them but they look fine looking at them in the block... man i wish that it was just a injector that had come apart
