I have read the adjusting/moding the afc and the smoke screw but with my setup currently I get very little boost maybe 10 psi max if I hammer it
the egts when in overdrive get to 1100 leveled off in the other gears are about 700-800

how can I get more boost? without killing my egts?
this isnt even towing anything

hmmmmmm i can peg 25 lbs with my stock hx35..... i think you should be getting alot more then 10 lbs with your hx40.... does your turbo has alotta shaft play?

 

make sure your gauge is good.

 

brand new turbo less than 5 k miles on it and it has normal play. can hear the wisle right above idle. 1100rpm just no boost
guage worked when I had the hx35

 

Is the waste gate set right.?

 

sounds like wastegate to me

 

check your intercooler boots

 

yeh i would check those boots for a hole.... unless u or somebody else messed with your turbo the waste gate should be fine... but i'd check that too....
