Default fuel plate problem

ok guys i have a #10 plate and everything was slid forward.
my egts were hott and it smokes like a fein.
so i decided to slide everything back. after i was done i left school and my egts were still high just running through the gears and so was the smoke. that should have made a difference? im gunna try putting on the stock plate and see what happens?

Smiding it back should make a pretty big difference. Were you all the way forward and you moved it all the way in the opposite direction?

might wanna check for boost leaks... I had almost the same thing on my truck, I went form no plate, to a 5 and a 8 and my EGTs stayed identical. Sure enough, got new boots on and problem solved...

Like Whit said, check the gov arm to be sure it's engaging the plate near the bottom, but not under. You may also want to dial back your star wheel if you adjusted it before. This made a big difference on smoke and temps for me when I switched from an 11 to a custom plate.
