Default Shop told me I should adjust the valve lash?

As the timing would not cause the problems I am experiancing, what do you gents think? Thanks

Maybe the valves but they would have to be way out. .010 intake .020 exhaust.

Not so much chatter more of a pre-igition rattle at about 2000 rpm's and up.. to get it to go faster I back off the throttle. I have dealt with lots of gas pots and it was always a timing issue (well except when I ran a lower octane fuel on a 11-1 gas engine) but deisel stuff is unknown

Still sounds like timing to me. Did the shop actually check the timing or did they just tell you its not a timing issue?

from what you said it sounds like the timing is off and causing the valves to chatter...
