can you guys tell me how to adjust the timing on my truck and what i should put it to i was thinking about advancing it 15 degrees or so any input is good and another question is when i start my truck hot or cold a have to just barely tap the throttle how could i fix this is it just idle that needs adjusting. thanks guys

Hotcummins covered the timing....but yes a bump in the idle should fix the cold start. It should be 800-850 in neutral with the A/C in your case. Using a little pedal is not bad though with the mechanical pumped trucks. Lower your visor and it will say on the cold start instructions to push the pedal some.
