Regardless, Anyone will tell you tightning the springs can cause driveability issues. Adjusting them is pretty simple. I tell most folks to go through the side plug (Less chance of dropping somthing in the pump) I do mine from the top most the time.
Take the plug out, Roll it (motor) over till you see the spring and retainer.
We've got 4K's on special right now. Another common issue that isnt noticed until fuel is added would be the gov. arm getting under the plate and hanging! The gov arm should always be adjusted once and new plate and gov. springs are installed! Or atleast checked!

this one might be a little more helpful than the packbrake pdf. Reading the pacbrake instructions got me lost and I wish I would have found this pdf sooner because it would have saved me $100 when I had my gsk installed

I'm planning on doing a 4k spring on my friends 96 on Friday or Saturday, its up to her... But I'll make sure to take pictures and I'll do a write up. Then I probably won't touch mine until December when I rebuild my engine.

[QUOTE=lodal cummins;424392]how much is the 3k kit?QUOTE]
I believe its PDR that has the 3k for $125 but thats the same as the 4k kit. IMO I would get the 4k and just not use the inner most spring until I got the 60lb valve springs that way theirs hardly any chance of floating your valves

I plan on doing my rebuild once work goes on our winter shutdown which begins on the Dec 11. That day, right after I leave work, the truck goes to my friends shop and we're pulling everything... Depending on how everything goes and and when my head comes back from ATS, I hope to have it all back together before christmas, then after christmas day I'll be doing my new pump and gsk but I'll bring the truck down to the parents house in Belen
