i thought of that the night i put mine on. i pulled up next to a kid at the gas station with a 97 ctd with a beautiful and flawless white paint job and a 7 inch stack. the whole time i was fueling up he was cleaning the soot of of his hood and windshield were it had rained the night before and he fired it up that morning. i come to the conclusion to put my 5incher up under the bed so i get the performance and sound, but i dont have to deal with soot or move my toolbox and cut a hole in the bed.

take a coffe can spray the inside with glue then put padding in it. after that paint the outside of it. there ya go a fancy rain cap with no scratches in the wind.
