High idle?
I'm guessing that using cruise for high idle, it doesn't on any other truck. I don't like having to use a stick but a cable might work(I want it to be user friendly for the ol lady). Is there a way to fool the cruise to think the truck is moving to use it as a high idle, or is this just a pipe dream? And yes I like to think outside the box. Haha.
hmmm i dont believe so... it goes by vehicle speed; you could wire up a toggle switch that engages the cruise but you'd then have to rig a stop on it so that it'd only travel so far as i assume if you engage the cruise manually it'll just peg the rpm's... how ever i have been thinking about doing it on my first gen; if you get on summit they have idle compensators for old carbureted engines so when the A/C kicked on it'd open the throttle up a little bit... idk if the thing itself is adjustable or if you have to adjust the mount; but i'd try doing this before messing with the cruise. buy it mount it and adjust it; wire it up to a toggle simple on/off operation and it wouldnt interfere with normal cruise operation
gotta love it
no problem bud, looked them up too... just search for "idle compensator" or "throttle actuator" i'm guessing since it has a hex head design the shank itself is adjustable... obviously the bracket isnt made for the cummins so modification will be needed; 75 bucks for the holley brand which doesnt come with the bracket or even lock nut and 109 for the edelbrock one with all the hardware... if you bend the living **** out of the bracket you might be able to make it work
