tranny smell
this truck has about 19,000 on tranny rebuild when i bought it. it is 2200 dollars of work and on invoice says shift kit and low stall converter. truck was stock when i got it and i did all the mods. i smelled the tranny fluid when purchasing the truck and was fine. still runs strong and shifts hard. smelled the fluid today and has a slight burnt smell to it. not slipping(yet) wondering what can i do to avoid and whole rebuild?

not to mention i have not pulled anything with these mods so the tranny has never gotten hot. just wondering if adjusting the bands and changing the fluid will really do anything. i know burnt smell is anything but good.

going to get tranny temp guage. not sure what would have allowed it to heat up as i'am not no jhonny lead foot. wonder if it will be o.k. or if my mods are too much for it. only time will tell and i will change fluid and see what is on the magnet in the pan. is it a little soon for adjusting the bands? will a deeper pan help?
