stock tranny coolers

Dave Goerend told me that they, the stock coolers, are more than adequate due to the fact that the tranny from the factory was highly inadequate for the truck they put it in.
that being said, put a temp gauge in the hot line and if it gets hotter than "normal" then you should assess the situation, i would look into cleaning the coolers, changing tranny fluid to maybe a synthetic, then after that is all exhausted i would change the cooler. BTW if it is a stock tranny a new converter will help solve the heat issue as most heat is created when the converter is in NON-lockup.
