Default shift points??

Ok I did the basics with the plate and star wheel and housing movement, now my question is that my truck doesn't shift up fast enough. that is to say it "lingers" in gear until power drops off past 2200ish rpm at WOT, except into O.D. where it shifts a little lower. I did read the POT mod article, but I'm not sure if it relates. any help muchly appreciated

a gov spring kit like a 3 or 4k would fix that bc it starts to loose power bc it starts to defuel. So it will be fueling and have power the whole time instead of falling off at 2000

Is it just "slipping" into gear or does it shift good and hard still?? Does it only do this at WOT or do you have to run up the rpm's that high to get it to shift??

but I don't want it to rev that high(or are you saying it will still shift at 2000, but still be pulling hard instead of "floating" before the next gear??)

It always shifts fairly solid, and the shift points change depending on throttle position, but my concern is at WOT, it just seems to "hang" in between gears when it should just shift up.
I thought that the trans might be unloading torque to make it easier on the bands, but this seems a little advanced for a "work" truck

a 3k kit your fine but with a 4k you would need 60lb valve springs. all it does is make it fuel longer bc our truck starts to defuel like 2200 rpm and that will make it fuel the whole time till it shifts it wont rev to 3k every time u get what im sayin?
