Speedometer problems

Yeah... I guess that's what it's called.... PCM?
I was told that these trucks only have two computers.... the other one is the ABS. Which so happened to be the only key turn type light that worked properly (turn on for a few seconds and turn off... normal. Seat belt light may have worked, too; but I don't remember, it's not like I pay attention to that idiotic light, anyways....) when everything else wouldn't work on the dash. Well the Oil, Fuel, and Temp gauges worked too, but I doubt those go thru that computer anyways.
Everything works fine, now.... Even the Check Engine light works. Wouldn't blink on when the other stuff broke, but blinks on, now and then turns off after a few seconds, like it should.... The diagnostic key trick of on-off-on-off-on works, too... (like in that link I left... only works for 94-96, though; according to the same web-link.) Although did me no good in trying to find the problem being that the check engine light was one of the things that quit working when the computer died....
Right now the codes are telling me that the cruse control is broken... Which I already knew... (had to order a clock spring, to get the horn working for an inspection, and the damn online site miss listed it... They sent me a newer model where the cruse is on the sides of the steering wheel. I'll probably end up fixing the wire of the old clock spring and just put that back on.... or I guess I could get the newer steering wheel....). Anyway that and the Compass/temp unit are the next things that need fixing.
And I think I need ball joints too... I thought the steering unit was going out... but it's the ball joints I was hearing... Stupid that there is no way to greese them.... who designed these things.... Who's bright idea was it to not to be able to greese the ball joints...
