I've been wanting to do something nobody else has done so that's what I'm thinking there's a guy in santa rosa ca running an hx35 over an s4 80. I want to do something crazy like that but with a single instead

Well if you wanted to be the first to put a Holset VGT on a 12v your already too late. BlackSkyRacing on Comp D has a HE451VGT on his 12v. He took the actuator off and used a Wastegate actuator off of a 12v.

Currently I have 3 of these turbos laying around. I'm trying to figure out how to use stock actuator(or at least the motor) but my knowledge of electronics is somewhat lacking so It's kind of slow.

I am in agreement with Dr.Evil on this one. With that vast assorment of good quality aftermarket chargers available why waste your time with this one?.If you can not find a S300 or S400 framed charger to fit your desires then you are not looking hard enough.

When I started my diesel project back in 1999 I had a man who was very knowledgable and owns a well known shop in the Midwest tell me this.."Sometimes you have to look beyond what you wallet can handle and understand that cheaper is not always the better choice. If you do not have the money to do what you need today you wait unitl it can be done right the first time so you do not spend your money twice on the same project"......Andy

Well for the record I already have a 62mm S300. I'm not really expecting any performance increase with this one. ( it might be a slight decrease actually) I just think it would be a cool project to tinker with and I do like the thought of the VGT/exhaust brake idea. That and its motivation to expand my knowledge of the electronic side which I always though was kind of interesting.

Besides everyone and their brother has an s300 these days. I gotta stand out somehow!

I would use yours since you aren't using them but I highley doubt anybody would see them if I hung them on the back of my truck.

How in the hell did the guy use use the wastgate acctuator on the thing I've looked at it and just don't see how it would work. And I think I've decided to go with a sled pullerr 66 it might be a bit hard to spool but it will support what I want to do in the future

Took the actuator off and welded a metal tab to the gear that moved the collar. Then made his own bracket to mount the Wastegate actuator where the electronic one used to mount.
