hey guys does anyone know why my a/c would only blow on the floor i live in houston and it is ridiculously hot right now and the floor vents aren't cuttin it ive already checked the vaccuum lines under the hood what else could it be

there is a smll door on the system that when closed diverts the air flow from the floor to the dash..........its vavuum operated and must be stuck open

my 95 V10 truck did this, if you cover the floor holes it should force the air through the upper vents, i took off the WYE that directs the air left and right and took 3 or 4 old CLEAN socks and stuffed them inside it tight and taped the end of the WYE and it forced the air through the upper vents......

That's some fine mechanic work there Logan.

It's the mix door, there's probably one or two vacuum actuators that operate it up or down depending on the switch position. Getting to the actuators is usually harder than cleaning them or replacing them or replacing the vacuum line going to them.

on mine i had a constant defrost going it was my vacuum lines

i had this same problem, i fixed the vacum leak and it still didn't blow through the vents only defrost. so i removed the actuator under the dash behind the transfer case shifter worked in and out a few times and it worked after that, if it is broken i can get the part number for a new actuator i have it some where because i thought mine was broke but after working in and out a few times it una$$ed itself, hope this helps

must be a mopar thing. I had a jeep cherokee do the same thing years ago
