Default Engine Oil

is there a certain oil you use that helps with the ol 12 valve. What about additives to the engin oil to help?

until I get the random oil leaks .. err I mean the "rust protection system" under control I'll stick with Delo or Delvac. When I ran Rotella there was always a funky smell so I had to switch .. other than that no complaints. The dual bypass kits from AMS are amazing and I highly recommend them. Schaeffers is also an excellent synthetic oil to consider.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, But Rottella is considered one of the worst oils to alot of folks. Most of your shops wont run it. DO NOT RUN AN OIL STABALIZER LIKE LUCAS. Your oil, If a good quality name brand lubricant should never need an additive! I've seen more harm done with additive like that than good! Again, before using rotella please do some research so you can make an informed decision regarding the well being of your engine.

Also, Saw a note about a K&N filter. I've seen issues there as well. The absolute best filter on the market for these trucks is the Fleetguard filters (Also Sold as Mopars). I suggest doing some research on this area as well!
