Default preventing a problem before it happens

a guy at work that has a 98 12v cummins showed me that his exhaust manifold is shrinking and starting to make the bolt crooked, after seeing his 98 like that i opened the hood on my 94 and its way worse. i realize the only way to prevent this is w/ the ats 3 piece manifold, im gonna start saving for 1. also to the people that have installed the ats manifold whats the best way to take the old bolts out? i heard a ratchet but i also heard that its better to use a 3/8 impact. any1 know where i can get the best price on 1?

just use a ratchet or a box end wrench....if it starts to hang up and gauld then go back in and then back out...work it ..........oh and use alot of good penetrating oil too, squirt it down the night b4

I have my 3 piece manifold i was just waiting till the end of the work season before i install it, I heard if you warm up your truck then spray down all your bolts with some high quality lube while its still hot and just keep rotating around spraying your bolts with the lube till it stops working its way into the bolts they will come out pretty easy. but main thing is make sure you dont break the bolt cause your goina have a hell of a time getting it out if you do.
