On saturday, I decided to make the first mod too my 97 12 valve, Which included grinding the fuel plate to 0, and sliding the afc and fuel plate all the way forward, and cranking the starwheel. I get in my truck, I am amazed at the new power, I make it about 200 yards down the road, and my truck starts skipping and blows white smoke at low rpm in second and third gear. I have now power when it hits this point, I do still have good power in 4th and 5th gear, but as far as the mid RPM range in 2nd and 3rd it pops, skips, and whitesmoke and I have no power down there. I ended up cranking the starwheel all the way back toward the fender, I though the fueling response was too much at low gear, It still does it. Has anyone ever expierience a similar problem after this mod???

 

Any idea what your timing is at? May have slipped and your noticing it more now from the extra fuel.
