Will advancing the p-pump timing cause the idle to raise?

 

i havent herd of it, i had my timing atvanced from stock to what i have now and i didnt have to adjust my timing

 

I havn't either,the idle is adjusted seperatly at the rear of the pump.

 

I did adjust it after i timed it but after I advanced it the idle was up to about 1100

 

I think the only way to turn up ur idle is with the idle screw on the back of the pump or by cranking ur governing springs which the more u crank the springs the higher u idle. I was playing around one day and clicked up my springs and i was able to turn 5200rpm (very scarey!) but my idle went up to almost 1800rpm too, which would not work for driving on the road

 

dodnt turn up the idle threw the springs just the screw
