Default just wondering

I know it can cause major problems but i was just wondering. what are the power gains if you gut the afc and take the fuel plate out.

From what I've heard the major problems aren't guaranteed.

My buddy has been running with out a plate for 3 years with no problems.

I'm running with a gutted afc.

Some trucks run better with out a plate and some don't. It's just a "do I wanna take the chance", I guess.

With the gutted afc it is hard"er" to control the smoke. It can be controlled tho.

Hope that helps some.

oh and btw.... Nice Truck!

Its pretty much proven that you get better gains by properly tuning the AFC and pump.

well i talk to the guy who turned my pump up and he said he put a #0 in it and ground the afc arm and the guy who had the truck before me said he thinks it was later gutted but cant remember. and i have not had a chance to look and see. i got a stock plate and arm and was going to mod them and see if it mad a noticeable difference. if mine has been gutted. but i have to get a good dual disc before i can tell any difference.

i was pushing 425 to the wheels before injectors and timing and my clutch would slip a little and now it will not hold, so i have been babying it till i have the money for a SBC dual disc.

running a 0 plate FF is just like haveing no plate and keep the afc in and tune it. IMO the only time the afc could be removed is for a full time puller ( and even then it doesnt have to come out).
