Default 4wd problems

I got a 97 dodge, I cannot get the 4wd to lock in for some reason. The manual tranny will shift fine, into low and high, the light comes on, but when I hit the throttle it blinks on and off. Have any of you had similar situations?

My 97 gasser would cut in and out like that. Turned out to be some vacuum lines that go to the CAD on the front axle... Check it out

More than likey it is vacuam. run you a straight vacuam line to your acuator it will be the left one. it that works replace the hoses. this is the way I have mine hooked up right now. dont have time and to wet to work on it.
