A set of 181,191 DV will really help spool that turbo up also...Good upgrade for our 160 and 175 pumps...A friend sold me some laser cuts and they work well in the smaller pumps. Not a wise upgrade to use LC in the 215 pump....too hot..

I believe its just a modified s300g. The s362's seem to support a more in that upper 400 to mid 500 range. Thats not a bad price for a brand new charger. You will need an hx40 style downpipe for it. And you will probably want more fuel to spool it. Turn up your pump a bit more and throw in some sticks, and that should be a fun turbo to have. I'd limit yourself to about 40psi boost if you're not going to go into the head at all for studs and such.

Be careful there. You'll be able to spool that turbo with the fuel you can make from your pump with just a plate and some AFC mods. More fuel than that and you're wastegate's gonna be open a lot. DO NOT GET LC DV Valves... You'll regret it big time. Biggest I would go is 191's.

The S300 just isn't enough of a step up from the stocker to be worthwhile IMO. For you an HX Hybrid 35/40 would probably work better, or perhaps a straight HX40, not quite as efficient, but the size will make up for it with a 60mm wheel.

Like I said...LC work way better in the small pumps. If it's to much fuel I ajusted the plate position and twicked the AFC....I found the EGT didn't change at all from the 131 DV and LC.I would of put in 181 or 191 but got a good deal on the LC and I was able to try them before I both them....Again its a different story for the 215 and180 pumps...they will run hot.Would like to get input from other members who installed LC in the smaller pump only.

I just pulled a set out of a 94 that was running way too hot and smoking like a freight train. I tried everything, from the AFC, to the Plate, to the wastegate, and it didn't change anything. Even with his tiny injectors it was too much fuel. I don't like them. They are really intended for pullers and racers only. 191's will flow more fuel than most people can use anyways, I had them in my 98 5-spd with an HX55 turbo and still ran hot with 370 EDM's and flow tested pump. They only gained about 40HP over the 181's anyways, and there was no difference with the stock turbo, it just ran hot and smoked more.

Thanks for the input...I guess every truck is different and you did the comparson on both types of pumps. The only change I made to my truck is the orginal went bad and I never had the LC in that one..I placed them in the rebuilt 175 I got.Who knows, maybe my rebuild was calibrated for less fuel flow...

Yeah, that crap happens. I've just seen a lot of guys hurt stuff running too big a valve, they figure if 181 is good, and 191 is better, then a full cut, or laser cut must be the best! And it simply isn't true. Keep in mind, flowing too much fuel for the amount of air that you have skyrockets cylinder pressures pre-detonation. When that happens you're looking at HG failures. Ask me how I know...

Well it depends on what you want to spend. Personally, I'd just build a hybrid. You'll need to find an HX40 thats in decent shape, the wheel and compressor housing really is all you need. All you have to do is swap the wheel and the compressor housing, but you'll want to get it balanced too (at least I would, the things spinning over 100k RPM's).

Actually, I'm not sure how you'd mount the compressor housing since you have a WH1C (it uses a ring to secure the compressor housing, not bolts like the HX series turbo's). Maybe an older 12V owner (wait, an owner of an older 12V) will chime in.
