WOT stop adjustment

WOT stop adjustment
So i can't keep my sausage fingers outta things. i was looking at my pump the other night and i saw wut looks like a WOT stop. i started thinking that i wanna adjust this because it seems my pedal has more travel than the bell crank does.
But how do i adjust this?? There's nothing cut into the end of the stop for a screwdriver or whatever. There's a plastic retainer looking thing covering up wut looks like a jamb nut but it looks like i'd have to break the plastic to get to the nut???
So how do i do this, should i do this and are there any complications from doing this?

ok thanks guys. there's a lot of info there. but unless i missed it i din't see wut i was after. i've checked the linkage between the bell cranks. it's at the right length. TPS is adjusted to spec.
the thing i'm looking to adjust is at the back of the pump. it screws into the back of the pumo. it's above and to the front of where the idle stop is. the rear bell crank hits the idle stop on one side and this WOT stop on the other.
i'm gonna read that stuff again tho. maybe i missed it.

Is there something wrong or are you just tinkering?
"# Insufficient throttle travel
* Symptoms: Low power, engine does not pull well above 2200 RPM
* Caused by stretched throttle cable, throttle rod out of adjustment, worn throttle parts
* Check by having someone hold the accelerator pedal to the floor while you see if the throttle bellcrank on the rear of the injector pump will move farther by hand.
* Temporary fix: replace the small spring at the end of the throttle cable where it connects to the accelerator pedal under the dashboard. Unwind the short spring from the cable, install a longer spring, wrap it with a piece of tubing, and put a small hose clamp around the tubing to keep the spring from flopping over."

I screwed mine all the way in a long time ago before i put in the 4k gsk. I had the pump off the truck when i did it though. I broke the little plastic tab off and loosed the locknut (10mm) and screwed the little bolt all the way in.
THis did not do much. Fuel still pretty much shuts off at the same 2300-2800 rpms as before. But, if you stay in it long enough it will slowly creep past 3000 till a little closer to 3500rpms. It is IN NO WAY like a gsk but it will give you a few more (not really useable at all) rpms.
