I think I'd be worried about something punching through it back there. Not sure why.

It gets tucked above the frame .. mine's 2wd .. so I have no need to worry as I obviously don't off road my truck .. LOL

Could also fit one behind the grill .. push fan .. eliminate the trans/coolant exchanger unit ..
more than enough room up front I would think .. I know I have like 5" of space easily
