I might have missed something here along the topic, but if I get what you're asking, you don't need a flow bench to do governor springs.

no you don't need a bench for gov springs. But if you into the gov housing making changes IMO it is best to send it to a shop.

I done my gov springs my self its not to bad. Truck runs great. Just use calipers to adjust everything To all the specs it was at when you take the factory springs out

I put 3k springs in mine, it's good for what I do.

My trick to installing them and setting them right is the idle shouldn't change, if it's too high, you need to tighten the springs, if it's too low you need to loosen them. My truck used to buck in higher gears at low revs, with the spring set it behaves perfectly

As for "fueling harder", it makes for a touchier pedal at low RPMs, but the only time it's actually fueling harder is where the stock springs start to defuel, which on my truck was about 2300 RPM,... Now it's about 2800 and that's good enough for what I need from it

Gotcha ... So your getting "Full Fuel" sooner in the rpm range ??

Not at all!, you're getting full fuel for LONGER in the RPM range... the AFC is going to limit fuel at low boost, and the fuel plate will control MAX fuel based on RPM... The governor springs will throttle back from full fuel to prevent over-revving, and stronger springs (3,4,5K) will just change the pump's idea of what over-revving actually is.

With the stock GS's in my truck, it started to defuel (based on RPM) at around 2300.. This is a big problem, because if you pull down to 1900 RPM in 5th, downshifting to 4th puts you back at about 2500, where it's already being defueled, and you just lose momentum on a hill until it finally comes down to 2200 RPM and makes good torque again... the 3K GSK on my truck made it start defueling around 2800 (free rev to 3500), which means I can drop down from 5th at 2000 RPM (easier on the tranny), rev to 2800 in 4th and pull HARD right away..

Make a bit more sense now?

4k's will fuel to 3700ish rpm with some pretty good street maners if set up correctly. Depending on pump and how touchy you like the throttle they can fuel longer than that if need be
