It's a component of the return-style fuel system. It more or less determines what fuel pressure it runs at by how much it does (or doesn't) bleed off the IP.

Why is it that people think that the 4K "Fuels Harder" .. its the same amount of fuel, same timing, and if thats all you change, where does this mythical "more fuel" come from exactly ???

i need clarification on this ... please ...( no disrespect intended of course , i just dont understand the thought ) ...

I don't know if I would say it fuels harder I would say for sure it. Gets to the point quicker. It won't ly gag around anymore. I was going to do 5ks. But I was talked out of it because of the go fast pedal. Being so sensitive on the street. Like said above bumpy roads and such making a jerky ride

govoner springs have nothing to do with the rack. the rack connects all 6 plungers to one another. if the rack is tight then the injection pump needs rebuilt. heavier govoner springs fuel harder because they keep the govoner out of the picture for a longer period of time. so you fuel longer harder. 5k's suck in an automatic. expecially if you have a tight converter. i took mine out and shimmed my old 4ks. much better manners.

5K's can be fun in a auto really depends on the set.
