Blue/ white smoke
My '95 12v is virtually stock has straight pipe dumped in front of rear dif, if the truck sits for 8hrs or more then is started it won't idle with out sticking the throttle to the floor and still won't idle over 8 or 900 rpm without sounding like everything under the hood is outta Wack and not running in a properly timed fashioned, and during the start and while it's warming up, the amount of blue/ white smoke rolling outta the exhaust is unbelievable. Once I finally get er warmed up she idles around 500 rpm and seems to run ok. The truck sat in a shed for twelve years, the origanal owner told me he would get it out once a year and drive it around the yard for a few minutes then back in the barn she went it's got 135000mi, looks a lil rough, we all would without a bath in twelve years. I'm a beginner when it comes to bein a mechanic so please make any advice simple. I refuse to keep taking my trucks to a mechanic, I want to be my own mechanic, but can't doit without y'all's help!!!

So far I have the fuel filter under the hood changed. And to be honest I have no clue how to adjust valves, but I'm willing and ready to learn. Also is it safe for me to go ahead and modify the fuel plate, wastegate, and smoke screw? I already started the fuel plate mod, but I don't wanna screw anything up the truck has too much goin for it! And also you said fuel filters is there more then one?
