will a first gen flywheel work on a second gen motor? I was offered a new 13 in clutch kit with a flywheel but after running the numbers found out it was for a first gen cummins. thanks in advance

 

it should work just fine all the 13 in conversions the valiar offers are the same for all the 12 and early 24 valves

 

it's not that big of a difference .... Chevy did the same with the 11 & 12 " clutches .... it was like a sb to bb difference ..

 

I was told my starter wouldn't work and that the first gen flywheel wouldn't work because its diameter was bigger than my stock second gen flywheel and wouldn't fit because of the bell housing adapter was different

what clutch is it that might help some most 13" conversion come with a flywheel that fits all of the 12valve is it a valair or southbend part number might even help to
