Default 12v swaps information

Howdy gents,

Was just wondering if any of you had the particulars on exactly what has to be addressed when swaping a 93 to a 98 and visa versa. Engine only.

Here's the thing. Found a guy with a 03 2500 that already has a 93 12v swap done. I will be trading him for my 98 but keeping my 98 12v and putting the 93 12v in the 98 truck. The 03 has a 6 speed that I will me keeping. The 98 has the 47re. Are all the sensors the same? Motor mounts are the same from what I can tell? What else?

All info will be helpful and thanks in advance!

Basically 93 12v into a 98 truck and a 98 12v into a 93 truck.

I have some questions regarding a swap as well. I would like to put my 94 12V into a 97 V10 with 47re. Wondering what needs swapped other than the TC, will it plug and go? obviously harness and all as well...

That 47re won't bolt up to the Cummins without an adapter and that trans is set up different than the one for the diesel.

I've done some research and the trans is where I get hung up, but are you sure? The re came in the 12V as well, and have read that it will bolt up...

Maybe someone else will chime in but I'm almost positive that the housings are different. The Cummins has an sae 3 housing and the V10 has the mopar housing

Just ran across this OLD POST while searching for a chart on SAE bolt patterns and figured you wouldn't mind a "clue in".

It's like this:

V-10 and Diesel trans are the same case pattern, even very similar internally, which means if you change some minor parts, like governor weights and torque converter, it can do service behind each engine alternatively.

V-6 and V-8 all use the same bells, auto or manual, but are their own, not related to the V-10/Diesel bell.

NONE of the Chrysler bolt patterns have any relationship to the SAE bolt patterns whatsoever.
In truth, if I were to say "it's close to something", the V-10/Diesel pattern is reminiscent of a Big Block.

Here's a chart of the SAE sizes and bolt patterns:
http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/sae.htm

The only reason I am even looking at SAE bolt patterns is that I bought a '95 F-800 with the POS AT545, so I was looking at a cheap remedy to the slipping POS AT545 in it and was comparing it to an MT643, which is a slightly heavier version, with lock-up.

Mark.

So I guess that the bells are the same just not some of the internals.

GbryTxCtryBy, Did the 93 12v originally come with a auto or a manual? The autos need a TPS sensor and the manual trans trucks did not come with it on the injection pump. Even if the 93 came with an auto I'm not sure the connectors would be the same. The 98 engine should work fine with the manual.

MTDodge, The V10 and the Cummins share the same bellhousing pattern, and on a 47re the same internals (47rh will have different governor weights). You will need a TPS for the transmission to work, as well as a different T/C, and a different computer (shift points on a diesel are different than on a gasser). You will have to find a way to hook up your Cummins TPS into the V10 wiring harness, but I still dont know what you will do about the shift points, maybe flash the computer.

My question would be, can I swap the CPS from the 98 engine to the 93? I mean I won't be needing it anymore.

I see, TPS. I was not understanding.... I'll have to figure that out or make a mount
