Jesus Harold Christ, I've heard that song and dance before. I have to wonder how many perfectly good pieces of machinery get trashed because of that and the ol' "I know some people who" arguments?

If you value your transmission, listen to MysteryNC. I know some people on here consider the Chrysler publications to be Engines for Dummies books, but they're written by engineers who get paid a whole heap of money to design and maintain this stuff. The good stuff is expensive, but you can pay now or pay later. Your prerogative.

I've got 3 local shops who don't even subscribe to a service like alldata. No torque specs, Wiring diagrams or repair procedures. After doing this a while you realize it is impossible do the job without it! But you ask and they say "ahhh....you don't need that junk!" Those are the guys that you stay away from. Might be good policy before listening to someone on technical advice to ask if they have an information service or service manuals for the job at hand! From time to time one of the local guys around town will dump 5w30 in a 0w30 engine and rumors will circuilate while the owner pays for the rebuild "it's not the oils fault..it's the same thing!"
