NV4500 gear oil
I was needing to add a little gear oil to my nv4500 and I was wondering if royal purple will work and can I add it to whats already in it? Also what weight oil do I have to use?
|
not sure on the weight but know its good stuff .. run it in both my trucks ... 7.3IDI and Cummins 12V
|
I think it calls for 75/85 but if I get a weight close to that I was wondering if It would be ok?

Syncromesh type fluid ONLY. DO NOT use a regular gear oil.

Yes it has to be for GL4 or GL5 but what about the difference in weights? Can I just get some close to the same weight and use it?

And no you can't compare weights and use another oil. This is a white paper on the subject. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...1231182&page=1 Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2 |

I can give you the part number in another screenshot. The part number correlates to pennzoil and castoroil syncromesh fluids. You can put in if you want but it wont shift well. No where in any manual will you find a gl4 or gl5 recommended for a nv4500 or nv5600. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2 ---AutoMerged DoublePost---
