Hey guys I'm hoping you can help me out, I recently bought a 96 3/4 ton and the brake cables were cut by the previous owner. I have been to 3 scrapyards, called the dealer and auto zone looking for this brake cable. P.S. I need the left and right side cables.

 

Possible someone swapped out the rear end with a newer style?
PM me the VIN and I see what I can come up with.

 

That is a swap for sure because there is it should have a drum brake setup. They could have done a disk conversion and rigged up the ebrake from something else or like said about it could be a transplant from something else.

 

I'd start by lookin at brake cables for a newer Dodge with rear discs.

 

Thanks for all the input, you guys are f**cking awesome.I'm going to start looking at dodges with rear disk like tiremann suggested. By the way could the rear discs be the reason that the brake pedal feels soft and weak?

 

Yes. I would just double check and make sure they are bled good but they will feel softer than if it had the original drums, it takes alot more fluid to fill the area in a caliper vs the little piston on the drum setup.

 

Looks like it is an axle off of a 3rd gen 3/4 ton dodge. Thanks to everyone that helped out now to see if swapping a 3rd gen master bake cylinder will improve the feel of the brake pedal.

 

Do you possibly have air in the lines ?
