NV 5600 slave issues
I have a nv5600 behind my 98 12valve. I have about 250k on the slave cylinder assembly, trans is rebuilt.
For several years, I haven't had any issues.
Now, when I shift from neutral to reverse at a stop, i grind gears. If I shift to a forward gear before getting reverse, it wont grind. It seems like my slave cylinder isnt fully disengaging the clutch.
What say yall?
Also, I am putting a new South bend dual disk DD/towing clutch in with my new engine.
Should I be looking at heavier duty master/slave cylinders anyway?

I just replaced my master and slave cylinder and it made a world of difference. Mine was bleeding down while pushing in the clutch.
My suggestion is to ask South Bend to see if you need a heavier master and slave cylinder, or if you can use a stock replacement.
Here is my write up about replacing the master and slave cylinder.
