EGT Problems

well then my EGTs are off the charts. i just had my pyro installed (pre boost) and with my foot to the floor im runnin at 1400... compared to my idle at around 400. I drive a 94 2500 cummins with the AFC kit #8 plate (slid 50% forward) KanN cold air intake and 4 inch MBRP straight pipes. i messed with my starwheel and honestly have no idea where it is and where it should be.

Yeah, more fuel = more heat. With those mods, 1400° at WOT doesn't seem unusual. Or overly concerning, as long as you don't keep it there for miles on end. The most I can get out of mine is 1000°, but the only change to my fuel system has been cranking the starwheel FF. It barely even smokes, so the fuel difference is minimal and I'm sure the open exhaust doesn't hurt me either. Once you start screwing around with fuel plates though, it's a whole other ball game on the pyro.
