brake problems

Default brake problems

i think my brakes have started to ware because when i step on the peddle it goes almost to the floor before the brakes start to work. whats wrong????

Yeah... I feel stupid. So I checked the brake fluid and... u guessed it. Completely empty. Not a little low. Bone dry Two whole bottles of dot 3. Now how do I get the air out of the lines?

Your best bet is to do a gravity bleed first. Jack the truck up, open all 4 bleeders. Make sure you keep the reservoir full. Once you see brake fluid coming out of each bleeder, close them. Then have a friend help bleed the brakes one at a time starting at the passenger rear. Have a friend push on the pedal and hold it while you open and close the bleeder. Continue this until no more air comes out. Then, move on to the rest of the wheels: driver's rear, passenger front, driver's front in that order.
