Default brake problems proportioning valve

have a 99 dodge 2500 diesel brakes are very soft to push and leaking fluid attached pics of where the rubber gromit was missing on proportioning valve and where I put the rubber gromit back on took it off my 99 3500 dodge anyone have any idea why the grommet would have come off brakes did get hard to push like they normaly would feel im lost on this never have delt with the proportioning valve before any help I would really appreciate thank you

Idk why for sure but I assume that brake fluid and sit are the cause of the grommet coming off don't quote me on that idk for sure but I had this same problem on my truck only difference was that my abs and brake light came on
