Default 600hp daily driver help

Im looking to buy a second truck as a daily driver so i can promote my 12v to a comp truck. I'v mostly been a Cummins guy but I was really impressed with dads lb7 so i did some research and I think a LBZ might be in my future. My goal is just to have a fun, reliable truck that I can drive to work and get the groceries in. Oh and I almost forgot, it should be fast too! So far my plan was suncoast stage IV and efi live from duramaxtuner.com but other than that I'm no too sure what the best way to make power on these engines is. Should I go twins? Or what about that wicked truck Nick from dt drives that has a gt4202 with his quick spool valve? Open to all suggestions but I want to keep the stock bottom end so this setup has to be safe for the stock rods and pistons. Be sure to include all the little things too because like I said I'm coming from a 12v background where all you have to do (in a nutshell) is add fuel and air and the engine will make power.

yep, this is true with any diesel.

on top of what you already plan on, i would do a turbo back exhaust, and high flow intake. EGR delete,

600HP is about the max that you want to go for stock internals

Are there any little things that I'm overlooking because I'm not so familiar with those kinds of things on a Duramax. Also some turbo setups that work nice on lbz's.

fuel system, the cp3 needs lots of fuel, and maybe dual cp3's, but 600hp is gona be pretty tough to do without breaking something

i would say that a lift pump, modded CP3, 50 hp or so over injectors, turbo upgrade, and as you mentioned trans upgrade. dont forget the head studs too

depending on how far you take it this should get you to 600 HP. be careful with the LBZ as the pistons as they are a weak link

Ok thanks for the info guys! Keep it up. This is still a theoretical build because I can't afford this lbz yet but are there any brands that you guys think are superior to the rest?

Im a ford guy, but it seems Fleece is very popular with the dmax guys. Any reason you arent going with an lly or lb7? or do you just want a newer truck period? I would go with a good efi tuner, airdog 2, ADP or suncoast built trans, gauges, exhaust, cold air and see how you like it after, you might be satisfied with that

LBZ's are probably the most problem free of the duramax's without all the emissions of post 07.5's

as for turbos, Garrett or Fleece, and talk to Nick and the guys at duramaxtuner.com and they will tune the truck for anything you want, they can make it do 60 or 600hp, just depends on what you want
