Default K&N Filter came off CAI.

Well after not sleeping last night from worrying, I finally decided that I would set my embarrassment aside and tell let you know what happened.

Somehow the cone filter came off of the CAI. It was not from being loose, it was almost llike it popped off from maybe being too tight. At any rate, I drove about 30 miles around town this last weekend without a filter on. Whats really neat is I remember all the cottonwood pollen in the air

I did run some errands yesterday and everything seems to be okay but Im about to drive 150 miles today and Im worried that I should have done more than just put the filter back on, shrug my shoulders and think about what terrible thing I did to get this kind of bad karma.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,
Brandon

You could change the oil & filter. I don't think there is really anything else you can do except drive it & hope for the best. (also keep an eye on that filter in case it pops again) I don't know much about cottonwood pollen but 30 miles isn't too far so hopefully it didn't suck in too much.

Yeah you are going to be fine. it sucks but it really isnt bad. as long as there isnt a bird or mud in your intake tube then i wouldn't worry about it. you have to think about what that air does before it gets to your eng. it enters your turbo (200ish degrees or more), flows thru your intercooler, and then enters you eng where it is then heated to temps in excess of 1000 degrees causeing a combustion and then the waste is sent out thru the turbo and out the exhaust. pollen honestly doesnt stand a chance. it would burn just like everything else. i wouldnt even sweat your oil until you are regularly scheduled.
