Default Brake Pedal Sensor?

Recently I have found my truck with the brake lights on while the truck is stopped and the keys not in the ignition. Ofcourse this completly drains the batteries if the lights were on all night. Simply shaking the brake pedal turns them off. Any ideas what this could be and if so is it a simple fix or should i just take it somewhere to be handled?
