My truck has a hard time starting after it sits a while. I just recently replaced the return valve on the injector pump but that did not help. after you start it up it will start easy after that. I do notice that my fuel pressure quickly goes to zero once I shut it off. Should it keep some kind of pressure to the pump after you shut it off?

I don't think it keeps fuel pressure after the motor is shut off.

Fuel tube o rings are most likely bad.

Check the fuel drain manifold on the back of the head on the driver's side. It loosens up overtime and can create these symptoms.

Number 9 on the PDF diagram.

Try disconnecting power to the lift pump before a cold start. If it starts easier then the diaphragm in the vp44 is damaged. Dont drive it with the lift pump disconnected.
