TPS Question
A new-to-me '93 D250 auto with 306,000 miles on it - cranks right up and sounds great. No automatic overdrive though (overdrive works, just have to use a grounding switch bypassing the PCM) and I'm trying to get it working automatically again. Jumped the usuals - tranny temp, etc and still no help. I have noticed that the TPS sensor on this truck is 180 degrees rotated to the others I've seen - the wires come out on the driver's side, not the valve cover side like most. Would this alignment have anything to do with getting an appropriate signal out to the PCM? The voltages check out fine on it but I'm not 100% sure whether the positioning of the sensor would matter - never have looked at one of these out of the truck so I'm not exactly sure what's going on down under it.
Thanks for the help,
Patrick
