Hi Folks,
Newest member of the shifting up/down club, sounds like TPS...problem to solve first is the physical description of parts/position. Everything I've read shows the TPS 3 wire plug as pointing UPRIGHT (which mine does not, it's more to the 5 o'clock position towards the power steering pump). '96 auto 12v, with unknown history....has something been changed here?

You should be able to clock it where ever you want .. it will be 90* either way ..
