If your lookin for real off road action, narrow and small diameter tires are what your wantin. If you look at the old army jeeps that ran the little pizza cutter tires, them things would go through any kinda bog you wanted to. Light weight, narrow truck with small, narrow tires. These new HUMVEE's, worthless off road. Torque and power to no end, but wide bodied, heavy truck with wide flat tires. Kinda good for sand but that about it. I have had the pleasure of trying both out in depth through all kinds of terrain and I'd take that old jeep any day.

yeah I really wanted an old army jeep type with the dual trnasfer case, but they want big bucks for them running or not.

I'll post pictures of the one I'm getting. the body is solid inside and out. and is geared low.

I've got a couple of m38A1's. Picked them up for the presmog titling here in cali. Not sure if you have any way to get one from here to there... but I'll have another one in a couple of days (1955 blue tag titled as a 1953 but you get no title unless you want an 84 cj7green sticker/offroad only title)

It'll have a buick v6 in it... stock 3speed (t14 I think) then a dana 18 t-case... narrow track axles.. front might be a 25 w/ crappy 2 piece offset 44 rear... no rust though!

I always find deals on vehicles out there that are completely rusted out.... that's a good source for a title locally to put on a clean rig.

(now if any of this sounds illegal... just think about the retardedness of the DMV... the system is broke... they can't fix it and nobody knows what they are doing... so if you're not playing w/ stolen parts it's pretty much fair game w/ old jeeps)
