Fourth Gen? You have a 09 1500? The fourth gen has not come out yet for the 2500/3500. The first year is susposed to be 2010. I assume that you are after one for your 07.5, or third gen. The third gens had two different motors, I assume that is why you are refering to it as a fourth gen.

Nope, the "Gen" refers to the body style, not the motor.

That was just a minor upgrade, only headlights and tail lights, they are totally redoing the body style in 09 for the 1500, 10 for the 2500/3500.

it was a little more then just head lights. a new grill, bumper and fenders to fit the new lights. i don't think they changed the hood. a new center stack for the dash and new seats. 2 new 6spd auto's. i'm not sure on this one but did the 5.9 come with one of the 6spd auto's in 06. i think that was it but i know someone will key in with something i missed

This is true that the front end got an upgrade. But if you look at a picture of a first gen vs a second gen vs a third gen you will see that they made dramatic changes to the body style. As for the trans the 6 speed auto is only aviable with the 6.7, although they did have tow different 6 speed manuals in 06/07, 6th gear ratio is higher in the later one's for a more friendly cruising speed rpm.
