Do you have a limit on debit at fuel stations?

Yes, the VW' do the 50mpg on highway- they sip a bit more in the city, but are still way better than a gasser due to increased fuel efficiency.

My realistic average is between 40 and 47 or so, cruising 80 down the freeway and driving like i stole it in town. At 60mph its in the sweet spot with the 5 speed on torque, I'd imagine you'd get some amazing mileage if you actually drove 60.

Need to change out that fuel filter yet.
I love only paying $35 a tank as opposed to $90 and not getting as far. Not the most comfortable thing in the world but I'll take it.
Not sure if you realized it but the 06 jetta already ran a sinthetic oil VW spacific oil... These cars do a bit better on running a fuel additive. We run the VW additive in ours.. Most people do not realize that the Stuff you buy from VW is actually one of the higher rated additives Standyne. Not sure about the stuff you sell never actually looked into it... Looking at the mileage on your car you should check into the service history and make sure the timming belt has been done on it. Its due if you have to change it make sure you change the pullys and tensioners at the same time. After working in a VW dealer for severall years we never seen the actuall belt fail it was always a pully that went bad and took out the belt. Also if it is the automatic check and see if the trans has been done its also due.

My wife currently has an 06 tdi, bone stock. On the interstates doing runs between florida and Penn, up to three times a year, we are always above 55MPG and i normally run 75 to 80 mph. in her 01 tdi, which was also bone stock, we broke into 60mpg one time on a long trip from VA to MT, and that car was loaded with enough stuff for two kidz, wife and myself on a 30 day vaca. Anyone who owns one knows how big the trunk is, she couldn't squeeze a fart in there. Not sure if it made any difference, but it was after we calculated MPG, found that the fuel filter was plugging and killing horse power above 70-75 mph. It would just fall on it's face if you smashed the throttle, come offf the throttle and it would slowly climb back to 70-75 mph. i would love to see about 20 more hp in these and a sixth gear. i would bet most people could reasonably see 60+ on the highway all the time.

Heath, do you have an auto or manual in the 06? From Michigan to new york we get 52 mpg running the cruise at 72.

Pfft 50mpg? My MODDED tdi does 60-62mpg all day long. With JUST highway driving (going the speed limit though), I can go from Buffalo NY to Myrtle Beach SC on 1 tank of diesel (around 1k miles). Most tanks of 90% highway and 10% city, w/ cc set to 6-7mph over the speedlimit, I'll get a good 55-57mpg. The more you mods these, the better the mileage is.

No 2 cars are the same...and I won't get into an additive debate...I see one was already started with no end in sight . I'm happy with 52. My charger R/T typically got 16, but its all in how you drive it.

Well it's all in how you drive it yes.. but it's also in what mods you've got done. Just like a Cummins, the more mods you do the better the mileage gets. TDI's dont require any additives.

No two are the same!! I just wish my Cummins would respond to mods. The more I do to it the more it stays the same. That isn't completely true: It has gone from the 14 - 15 when we picked it up at the dealership to mostly getting 16 now. Oh well, it is a blast to drive and I shouldn't complain; it has a lot more power now than it did stock!

I'm sure that comes down to driving style as well; if you harp it, the fuel-tank is gonna harp YOU.
