oh, cool you have the VDO boost with a psi print I do have the metric bar print.

I never heard about EGT problems- but I will do a bit search in german forums.
Be careful with Bosio Fratellis- I had them three (!) times to send me new injectors, they weren't matched! As a result of that you can have combustion chambers running enriched and others will run lean. Guess what happens with your EGT's!

My sig barely has enough space to cover the wonderfull things I've done with my truck, but maybe I can squeeze TDI into it. Really, I usually do my VW TDI forum things on TDIclub.com. There is so much info over there, that you can't even read all the results when you do a search. A serious wealth of knowledge.

I gave up on the TDI fourm. Severall times since i bought my 2006 i have asked questions over their for performance mods and got reamed out severall times with them telling me it was a stupid idea... This was when the 06 first cam out and their was verry little aftermarket for them... Lat time i went in thier same thing after i searched looking for teh info i couldent find exactly what i wanted posted up and got another reaming. the guy that was doing the reaming couldent even point me to what i was looking for. Funny thing is the guys that were being asses did the same upgrades i was asking about...haha

Their are soem helpfull people over their and it is a good fourm. But unlike the Diesel truck fourms that are helpfull no matter what. their are some imature ****** on that fourm

i have an all stock '00 TDI with a 5-speed. i have AutoMeter Cobalt Series boost AND egt gauges. on boost, i have seen up to 18PSI. on pyro, i have seen up to 850oF. i have been reading about a thing called the 'evry mod'. its a $5 potentiometer that is hooked up to the injection pump wiring harness and you can fool the ECM into thinking it doesn't have enough fuel, and therefore sends more. if you look it up on youtube, theres all kinds of vids on it - and they are pretty impressive! what do you guys think?

I ran the evry mod for a few hours. Its a noticable power increase but I also got a noticable mileage drop. I'm going to hook it back up when I get around to it but right now the tdi is all I have to get around.

This is what they call a "10 cent tuning" due to its costs in germany. The PCM is a very smart unit - recognizing every unallowed modification. It takes more to trick it into more power.
Do you have already an EFL indication?

but would it harm the motor in any way? if you turn it up too much, will you blow a head gskt or something due to excessive cylinder pressures, or even overspeed the turbo? btw what is the upper limit on EGT you should be seeing with it?

when i was researching the car, i believe i read that the pistons are an aluminum alloy and have a higher melting point than 1150*.
The mods basically go nozzles, clutch, rocketchip tuning and intake. From what i've read, once you get to the point of needing studs or anything, your really pushing what the motor will do reliably.

I have an 06 Jetta with a straight pipe 3 inch. It doesn't make the car much louder but the Turbo sounds like a damn vacuum cleaner. Also no lights on after. New south gauges i think are about the best gauges for VW. They are an exact match to the dash and they make some cool pods for them. Def worth checking out if you are in the market for a set.
